Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect at a Tot Music class?
Our classes are a time when children and their parents/caregivers can spend quality time together, having fun and making Music Together®. In order to make the most of your experience, it’s extremely important that you, as the adult, come to class full of enthusiasm and ready to participate. Even when it seems that your child may be wandering around class, instead of participating, they notice your involvement and soak up the music that you’re making. If you’d like to see what a Music Together class looks like or hear from other Music Together parents regarding their experiences, please visit the Videos page in our Gallery tab.

How big are your classes?
Our classes include between 6 and 12 registered children, plus their accompanying adults. Class sizes may be smaller depending on the location.

What should I do if my child is sick?
Please do not bring your child to class if he/she has a contagious illness. (This includes, but is not limited to: fevers, rashes, vomiting, diarrhea, hacking cough, runny nose with yellow or green mucus, or lice.) Tot Music has a generous make-up policy, so please allow your child (or yourself!) the time you need to return to health before you return to class.

What if I have to miss a class?
If you know that you will miss a class during the current session, we would ask that you notify Tot Music so we are aware that you will not be in attendance. You may reschedule up to two classes using our Make-Up Scheduler tool.

Can I attend any class to make-up a missed class?
We aim to keep our class sizes reasonable, and some locations may require us to cap class sizes at smaller numbers than you may expect, so you cannot simply show up at a class to fulfill a make-up. Please use our online Make-Up Scheduler to schedule your make-up class(es). If your first choice for a make-up class is not available, we must ask you to please review the available options and choose the class that works best from the remaining sessions.

What is your guest policy?
We are always excited when people want to make music with us! Adult guests are always welcome to join us, but advance notice is appreciated. When classes overlap with school breaks, older siblings are welcome to attend class, as well, but advance notice is required. If you have a friend who is interested in Tot Music’s programs, we urge them to schedule a free demo class using our Demo Scheduler. Children who are not related to the registered child cannot simply show up for a class.

What if I refer a friend to a Tot Music program?
Thank you! We realize that many activities are advertised by word-of-mouth, and we are grateful to the adults who share their love of Tot Music with other parents. We are pleased to introduce our Refer-A-Friend Program. If you refer a friend and he/she registers for the current session, you both receive $5 off your enrollment. You can refer up to 4 friends per session, which means you can receive a discount of up to $20 off your session registration. Please see our Refer-A-Friend Program tab for complete details.

What is your refund policy?
Please click here for our complete registration and refund policies.

Can I switch to a different class after the session begins?
We know that life with a child can be unpredictable, and a slight change in nap time might make your class time inconvenient. We will do our best to accommodate any requests, but once class lists are finalized, we cannot guarantee that switches will be honored.

How will I know if class is canceled?
Weather-related cancellations will be posted under the “What’s New” tab on our home page, on our Facebook page, and on the answering machine at our office (631.758.3983). Registered families will also receive an email at the email address that Tot Music has on file. Please do not call our locations – these are separate businesses that may elect to remain open, even if Tot Music decides to cancel our classes.

If I pay online, is my payment information secure?
Yes! When you choose to pay for your class registration fees online, your payment is submitted via a secure payment portal. Should you wish to pay by check, instead of using your credit card online, you may choose the "Pay Later" option and mail your payment to our office. (Our mailing address is listed here.) Please note: your registration is not complete until payment has been received for your class.

Do you share my personal information?
Tot Music respects your privacy and will never share, sell, or rent your personal information with third parties for their promotional use. Your e-mail and mailing address will be shared only with our licensor, Music Together® LLC, for educational and quality assurance purposes.
